In Kindergarten (T3) we've been doing a unit on self portraits and figuring out the sizes of the body parts. We started with drawings and then moved on to modelling clay! These little clay 'people' sure are fun to make. Many of the k-3 classes have also read Rechenka's Eggs by Patricia Polacco and looked at beautiful Russian and Ukrainian painted eggs (like these) to inspire our own egg patterns: And in Ms. Wall's class students are creating wire sculptures of different endangered birds that they are researching. They are still in progress, but here is my little example: 5th Grade (T3) started printmaking their American capital cityscapes! It is very process-intensive but they were up for the challenge! In other news, the Art by Me artworks were shipped yesterday after much delay from snow days and field trips! More info to come from the PTA soon!
