Our curious kindergarteners have been learning to work with clay. We read Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and came up with these kooky monsters! The third grade artists have been learning about American painter Wayne Thiebaud and his love for painting items from popular culture, including delicious looking food! Like these two! Some of the Kinders and 1st grade classes have been learning about the swimming pool paintings of David Hockney. We will be using a watercolor resist to make our people look like they are floating in a warm summer pool! Here is one of Hockney's paintings: Track 1 5th grade has done a nice job on finishing up their Robert Arneson miniature sculptures:
